William “Billy” Robert Tilghman, 79, of Maynard, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. William “Billy” was born on February 7, 1945, to Earnest Warren and Nettie Lou Tilghman.

William “Billy” is preceded in death by his parents; sister Natalie Kelly; brothers Franklin Tilghman, Donald Tilghman, Jermone Tilghman, David Tilghman, Loyd Tilghman, Edwin Tilghman, Richard Tilghman, and Douglas Tilghman.

William “Billy” is survived by his loving wife Virgie Tilghman; sons Brian (Carla) Tilghman of Pocahontas, and Jeremy Tilghman of Maynard; grandchildren Jorja Tyler, Olivia Corbitt, Carlee Tilghman, Ava Tilghman, Noah Callaway, Joseph Tilghman, Eleanor Tilghman, and a grandson, William on the way; and sister-in-law Valley Wilson-Ray.

All services are under the arrangement of Hope Gardens Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Brockett Cemetery with Terry Miller officiating.

Honored to carry William “Billy” to his final resting place are Willie Wilson, James Wilson, Jesse Luffman, Clifton Wilson, Kris Wilson, Kevin Wilson, and George Wilson.

Honorary pallbearers are Keith Wilson, Brown Ray, and Noah Callaway.
