WILLARD ”WILL” A. WHITLOCK

Willard “Will” A. Whitlock, 87, of Pocahontas went to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Randolph County

Nursing Home. Will was born on January 10, 1937, to the late Reverend Jess W. Whitlock and Fannie McMackin Whitlock in Pittman, AR. Will went to work for the FBI at the age of 18 as a clerk before joining the Army at the recommendation of Mr. J. Edgar Hoover. Will served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. After serving three years, Will obtained an accounting degree SIU before returning to work for the FBI. He loved his time in the Army as well being a Special Agent for the FBI, where he retired after 27 years in 1994. Will was born and raised in the Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Fannie Whitlock, brother-in-law, Willard “Pete” Wright, sister-in-law, Alta Abernathy, brother-in-law, Joe Perry Wright and sister-in-law, Louise Wright. Will is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Whitlock, whom he loved dearly. He also leaves behind numerous friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:00 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Luke Colley officiating. All services will be held in the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow the service in the Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Forester, Destin Rhodes, John Marconi, Omar Franco, Austin Brewer and Dawson Inzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Reese, Tom Herbst, Gary Skeen, Dr. Mark Skeen, Dr. Judy Skeen, Paul Carr, Jeff Sterling, Neal Piercy, Beverly Anger, and Linda Bowlin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Williams Baptist University in honor of Willard “Will” A. Whitlock.
