Wanda Dail

Wanda Louise Ross Dail, 75, of Ravenden, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, AR. Wanda was born to Larry and Marie Ross in Walnut Ridge, AR on October 30, 1947.

Wanda married Jack Dail on June 17, 1967. Wanda and Jack were happily married for 56 years.

Wanda was a devoted, active Christian, and a member of the Ravenden Baptist Church.

Wanda graduated from Black Rock High School in May 1965. After graduation, Wanda was a lifetime bookkeeper. Wanda began bookkeeping for Walt McClain Refrigeration in Walnut Ridge. She later became the bookkeeper for Dail’s Body Shop of which she was a co-owner. Wanda also served the citizens of Ravenden as recorder-treasurer until her death. She was a dedicated worker for the city for 27 years.

Grandsons, Corey and Jordan, became the “apple of her eye” as she cared for them daily and attended their many activities, which included many sports events. Wanda found real joy in family gatherings. She always won the prize for the best family cook. She obtained many of her cooking skills from watching her favorite cooking shows and from her cookbook collection.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Marie Ross; a brother, Darrell Ross; niece, Brooke Busby; nephew, Rodney Spencer; sister-in-law, Billee Ann “Cookie” Spencer; and brother-in-law, Roscoe Spencer.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Jack Dail; her son, Shane (Dorinda) Dail of Ravenden; and stepdaughter, Cathy (Andy) White of Cheyenne, Wyoming. She also leaves behind five grandsons, Jordan, Corey, Jason, Kyle, and Ian; and three great-grandchildren.

Wanda’s surviving siblings are sisters, Brenda (Larry) King and Doris (Butch) Dail all of Ravenden; and brothers, Kenny (Beverly) Ross, DJ (Regina) Ross, and Mike (Pam) Ross all of Ravenden.

Also surviving are sisters- in-law, Janice Mead of Julesburg, Colorado and Betty (Byron) Busby of Pocahontas; and brothers-in-law, Butch (Doris) Dail of Ravenden and Ted (Cheryl) Dail of Gentry, AR. Wanda was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews, and she had many friends.

All services will be held at Ravenden Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25 from 5-8 PM. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 26 at 10 AM with Brother Baron Wildmon and Brother John Stoll officiating. Burial will follow in Dail Cemetery.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Jordan Dail, Corey Dail, Fred Dail, Scotty Dail, Kayden Dail, Colton Dail, Ryan Mathes, Landon Gilbreath, and Zack Gilbreath.

Honorary Pallbearers are Bradley Gilbreath, Mike Ross, Kenny Ross, Kevin Ross, DJ Ross, Dr. Lee Coon, Larry King, and Tim McComas.
