Redskins roll with 3 wins over the week
WALNUT RIDGE—The Redskin baseball team won their sixth game in a row Friday afternoon at Walnut Ridge with a 7-1 win over the Bobcats. The win comes off of Thursday’s 14-7 road win over Westside and last Tuesday’s 7-0 home shutout over Southside.
The `Skins now sit at 12-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play.
At Walnut Ridge Friday, the Bobcats would get their only run in the first inning while Pocahontas scored one in the first, one in the third, two in the sixth, and three in the seventh for the victory. Redskin sophomore Rob Mason got the win on the mound for the Redskins, pitching all seven innings, striking out three batters and walking two while allowing seven hits and one earned run. From the plate, sophomore Dawson Chester went a perfect 2-for-2 with a single and a triple, two RBI’s and three runs scored. Junior Jackson Nichols went 3-for-4 with a bunt and two singles with two runs scored. Mason went 1-for-2 with a single. Junior Bradley Baltz went 1-for-3 with a double. Senior Jared Baltz went 1-for-3 with a single. Senior Matthew Waymon went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Junior Charley White went 1-for-4 with a single and one run scored. Sophomore Carter Privett went 1-for-5 with a single. Senior Ethan Frankenberger scored one run.
