Redskins lose 2 over the week, now 2-11

POCAHONTAS—The Pocahontas Redskins fell to 2-11 overall and 0-6 in conference play with Monday night’s 48-21 home loss to the Highland Rebels. The loss comes after the `Skins’ 67-36 loss at Valley View Friday night.

Taking on a muchimproved 8-10 Highland squad at Schoonover Fieldhouse Monday night, the Rebels jumped out to a 9-7 lead by the end of the first quarter and then outscored the Redskins 11-2 in the second to enjoy a 20-9 lead at the half. They would pick right up in the second half, outscoring the `Skins 15-5 in the third and 13-7 in the fourth quarter for the win. Pocahontas shot 24 percent from the floor to Highland’s 60 percent and 37 percent from the line to Highland’s 58 percent. The Rebels outrebounded the `Skins 20-15 while the Skins suffered 12 turnovers to Highland’s nine.
