Redskins & Lady Redskins show promise for solid golf season

POCAHONTAS- The Redskins and Lady Redskins kicked off week one of the 2017 golf season last week with both teams finishing runner-up in the Cougar Classic on August 1-2, followed by first place finishes at home on Friday with Redskin senior Preston Massey receiving medalist honors with his 36 score.
Both teams started off the week in the Cougar Classic Tournament at Turkey Mountain Golf Course in Horseshoe Bend on Monday and then over to Cherokee Village Golf Course on Tuesday, where the Redskins took runner-up with a 502 team finish. Buffalo Island Central shot a 493 for first place followed by Izard County in third with a 506, Concord 526, Conway Christian 546, Hillcrest 598, Bay 602 and Salem 632. Massey led the Redskins, shooting a 157 (placed second individually), followed by Elijah White at 168, Jared Erwin 177 and Jared Baltz 220.
