Redskins improve to 6-1 overall after win over Wildcats
The Pocahontas Redskins improved their record to 3-1 in 4A-3 conference play and 6-1 overall with a 32-14 win over the Trumann Wildcats in action at Schoonover Stadium last Friday (Oct. 16) night.
It was a shaky first quarter for the Redskins as the Wildcats scored the first two times they had the ball, taking the lead each time. But the Redskins had an answer for each early Trumann score and shut out the Wildcats for the remainder of the game for the win.
After an early Trumann score to take a 6-0 lead, the Redskins put points on the board almost immediately, as senior quarterback Dawson Chester hit C. J. Palmer on a 61-yard touchdown pass. Ethan DeYoung’s extra point attempt was no good, and the game was tied at 6-6.
