Redskins fall to Westside/Blytheville

Team heads into final week of regular season play

JONESBORO – The Pocahontas senior boys went 0-2 over the week to fall to 9-13 and 4-9 in conference as they headed into their final week of regular-season play this week.

After falling 71-51 at home to first place Blytheville Tuesday, Feb. 4, they traveled to Westside Friday, Feb. 7, where they suffered a 63-35 loss to the Warriors.

Westside jumped out to a 16-2 lead by the end of the first quarter Friday night and extended their lead to 43-10 by the end of the first half to go on to a 28-point victory over the `Skins. (No stats available as of press time)

Hosting Blytheville on Feb. 4, the Chickasaws took a 13-9 lead by the end of the first quarter and outscored the `Skins 17-8 in the second for a 30-17 halftime lead, before outscoring Pocahontas 23-16 in the third and matching their 18 points in the fourth for the 20-point victory.
