Redskins defeat Gosnell Pirates on the road 45-30
The Pocahontas Redskins got back in the win column this past Friday night defeating the Gosnell Pirates 45-30.
The win at Gosnell, which is an historically tough place for the Redskins to play, came after the ‘Skins lost their first game of the year a week earlier at home to the Rivercrest Colts.
“I’m very proud of this team,” Redskin Coach Charles Baty said after the game. “That was a tough loss to Rivercrest and we were able to put it behind us. I thought our team showed a lot of character and guts.” The balanced Redskin attack twice came from behind in the win over Gosnell. Senior quarterback Dawson Chester threw for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while the Redskin running attack averaged over six yards a carry in gaining 206 yards, including three touchdown runs by Connor Baker.
