Redskins battle it out in Tennessee

MILLINGTON, TENN. – The Redskins traveled to Tennessee last week to compete in the Best of the West Baseball Tournament where they’d fall to Covington, Tenn. 6-3, Briarcrest Christian (Eads, Tenn.) 12-2, and then to Peabody (Trenton, Tenn.) 7-2 to move to 7-6 overall on the season and 5-1 in conference.
 
On Thursday, March 22, the Covington Chargers broke out with four runs in the first inning to take an early lead before putting up two more in the fourth. Pocahontas scored twice in the fourth as well and once in the seventh to suffer the 6-3 loss. Redskin freshman Dawson Chester pitched six innings, striking out four and walking three while allowing eight hits and five earned runs.
