Redskin golf team fares well at home

POCAHONTAS—The Redskin golf team was at home Thursday, Aug. 15, where the boys claimed first place and the girls second as they hosted Westside and Marmaduke.

The Redskin boys shot a 117 in their 18-hole round afternoon on the par 36 Rolling Hills Country Club course, led by medalist David Weick who shot a 37. Weick was followed by Jared Erwin and Skylar Prater, who each shot a 40 while Logan Dunkerson finished with a 55. Westside placed second with a 144 while Marmaduke placed third with a 172.

In girls’ action (hosting only Westside) the Lady Skins fell by one stroke with a 188 to Westside’s 187. Madilyn McDowell led Pocahontas with a 57 followed by Gracie Miller with a 63 and Mia Presley and Abigail Finney each with a 68.
