Lady Redskins start softball season 1-2

WALNUT RIDGE – Following two losses to Highland in the home season opener on March 10, the Lady Redskin softball team traveled to Walnut Ridge Friday, March 13, where they picked up their first win, defeating the Lady Bobcats 10-4.

Pocahontas junior pitcher Emily McMullin got the win on the mound for the Lady Redskins, throwing 75 strikes on 140 pitches with nine strikeouts. From the plate, junior Savanna Andrews had three RBIs on two doubles along with two stolen bases. Junior Courtney Ervin had two singles with two RBIs and two stolen bases while sophomore Raylee Pogue, freshman Sydney White, and senior Taylor Donner each had doubles with a stolen base. Senior Dallace Shelly added two stolen bases on the afternoon.
