Junior Redskins finish season 8-1
POCAHONTASThe Junior Redskin football team closed out their 2019 season Thursday night at home against Gosnell where they shutout the Junior Pirates 38-0 to end the year with an impressive 8-1 record.
Pocahontas first got on the board in the first quarter when quarterback Reagan Womack led the team downfield and eventually took it in himself from 3 yards out for the score. Running back Tripp Risley ran in the 2-point conversion to make it 8-0 Pocahontas. Continuing to hold Gosnell throughout the rest of the night, Risley took over in the second quarter, going 43 yards for the touchdown early on, with Womack running in the 2-point conversion, and later going 16 yards for the TD, this time with Grayson Aguilar taking the 2-point in to make it 24-0 at the half.
The second half saw a beautiful 35-yard touchdown pass from Womack to receiver Kaydan Mahan for the score followed by a 23-yard touchdown run by Aguilar, who would also run in the two points to close the game out.
