“Skills `n Drills” basketball fundraiser Oct. 26
The 2019 Skills `n Drills basketball development program for area youth will be held Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Pocahontas Community Center.
The annual program, now in its second year, goes to benefit the Eddie Mae Herron Center, which operates solely through fundraisers and donations. It is open to both boys and girls in grades three through seven from any school district.
The one-day program will kick off with the girls’ session from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. while the boys will go from noon to 2 p.m. The cost to attend is $20 per player and $15 for each additional sibling. Volunteers from Williams Baptist University as well as the local community will be on hand to offer instruction to the participants. Each participant is asked to bring their own basketball if possible.
