Samuel “Sam” Martin Smith, 70, of Pocahontas, Arkansas passed away at his home on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Sam was born on Wednesday, December 5, 1951, in Tyronza, Arkansas, to Clarence and Loletia Long Smith.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Loletia Smith; and brothers, Jimmie Wayne Cockrum; and Nick Smith.

Sam is survived by his wife Barbara Smith; son, Christopher (Linda) Smith of Pocahontas; daughter Amanda (Clay) Harris of Pleasant Plains; six grandchildren, James, Coby, Isaac, Sage, Cord, and Addie; great grandson, Braylon; sister Barbara (Ray) Moore of Jonesboro; brother, Gilbert (Sue) Smith of Imboden; and many nieces and nephews.

All services were held in the chapel of Hope Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Sam was laid to rest in Antioch Cemetery.

Honored to carry Sam to his earthly resting place were Carrol Rogers, Greg Lance, Jerry Driskill, Daryl Higginbotham, David Brown, and Marty Martin.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Higginbotham, Justin Miller, Eddy Sharp, and Randy Miller.
