Reba Hyde

Reba Lee Hyde, 98, longtime resident of the Birdell community, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

Reba was born August 13, 1924 in Dalton to the late Donald Elmer and Lena Agnes Stubblefield McCallister. She was married to Jay Dee Hyde on September 26, 1942. She worked for many years as a medical records technician and medical coder for the Randolph County Hospital and for Dr. W.W. Scott and Dr. James Murrey. She finished her career as the secretary for the Randolph County Chamber of Commerce where she worked into her 80s. Reba was a faithful member of Birdell Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jay Dee Hyde; parents, Donald and Lena McCallister; and brothers, Don McCallister and Jim McCallister.

Reba is survived by her daughters, Carrie Mc-Cluskey and Kelly Rogers both of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Camille (Chad) Robertson of Arlington, TX, Kris (Dara) McCluskey of Arlington, TX, Lindsay (Wes) Walker of Pocahontas, Caleb (Jackie) Rogers of Pocahontas, and Bethany (Rex) St. Onge of Floral; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. All services will be held in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5-7 PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2 PM with Joshua Dement and Stanley Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Wells Cemetery near Dalton.
