Wanted: normalcy...

The Pocahontas Fire Department fireworks display was a grand show last Saturday night.

Although fireworks are not everyone's cup of tea, it was a fitting finale to the holiday which, because of the ongoing COVID health crisis, left many without their usual activities of the day. So fireworks provided the entertainment where people were able to sit in their vehicles or on lawn chairs, social distance and still enjoy the show.

So, thank you, Pocahontas Fire Department for giving residents some sort of normalcy for the summer of 2020.

And speaking of normalcy - it seems certain that it will not be returning soon. With several states showing increasing COVID cases, including Texas where all of my family lives, it's debatable whether it's safe to travel at all these days.
