Perspective... Commission sets rules

According to the Arkansas Times, The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission set up to establish the rules and regulations regarding the legal cultivation and distribution of marijuana in the state voted last week to charge a $15,000 fee for potential cultivation applicants.

Commissioners decided in the Dec. 20 meeting that there would be five geographical cultivation sites in the state, however at their meeting on Tuesday the Commissioners changed their minds and decided not to award the licenses based on the state’s Health Department’s five geographical locations, but rather consider the economic impact of a cultivation center. The licenses would be awarded on a merit system, not by lottery, and If any of the applicants are rejected for whatever reason they would see half of that money refunded.
