In the not so serious news ...

Didn’t watch the Golden Globes on Sunday night – watched a movie – one that certainly didn’t win any kind of recognition but was a fun, up-beat comedy/drama.
The awards shows from Hollywood are increasingly becoming forums for political statements, which are OK - it’s a way to inform and educate the masses – if that’s what you like. I will say that giving a good speech doesn’t exactly qualify one for becoming a candidate for national office, but stranger things have happened.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which bestows the awards, is a non-profit organization consisting of about 90 members from approximately 55 countries - journalists and photographers who report on the entertainment industry.
