In the news ...
Two more mass shootings has resulted in loss of life and injuries. At an El Paso, Texas Walmart last Saturday 22 people died and many more injured when a 21-year-old gunman opened fire. He was taken into custody. The other at Dayton, Ohio occurred just 13 hours later on Sunday where a 24-year-old gunman killed 9 and wounded 14. On July 18 at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California, a 19-year-old gunned down three people and injured 13. The gunman was also killed.
These senseless deaths and injuries are all to familiar occurrences in our society. The perpetrators do not need to be remembered for their horrible crimes.
Are we becoming desensitized to mass killings? If not, then why isn’t more done to address the problem?
