Former President George H.W. Bush, 94, who died Friday, Nov. 30, will be laid to rest at his presidential library in College Station, Texas, next to his wife, Barbara, who passed away eight months ago. The funeral was Wednesday at Washington National Cathedral.

Bush was elected president in 1988 and served one term. He is the 41st President and is remembered for making the statement ‘Read my lips: No new taxes,’ which some believe cost him a second term when later in his term he had to raise taxes.

Bush had a lifetime of service to his country. He became a naval aviator and through 1944, flew 58 combat missions earning many medals. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in September 1945, one month after the surrender of Japan.
