Vignettes will again be the subject matter of this week’s column. Choosing which the reader would find most meaningful is a challenge.
 
We will open with childhood memories from Brakebill. My sister, Linda Davis, and I were both born there in an old house most recently occupied by Doyle Lynxwiler. Our nearest neighbors were D.L. and Ruth Wimp Tucker, his parents Uncle Richard and Aunt Minnie Mock Tucker, Uncle Ken and Aunt Clementhe Galemore Wright, a preacher named Tommy Kidd and Ray Hatcher whose wife’s name I cannot recall.
