Celebrating MLK Jr. Day....

It was below freezing on Monday, Dr. Martin Luther King Day, and the annual symbolic walk was planned from the Randolph County Courthouse to the Eddie Mae Herron Center.

The snow from Saturday was still everywhere. I called Pat Johnson to ask if the walk was still on. She seemed surprised that I’d even ask. She said something like this:

“Yes, we’re going to walk,” she said. “We walk for the struggles that Dr. King and the people back in the 1960s had to endure. A little cold weather won’t stop us.”
