Melba Jean Kellim

Melba Jean Kellim, 89, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away Monday, January 28, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Arvil and Elsie Hankins and wife of the late Jim Butts. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Hoxie, Ark.

Melba taught 35 years at Hoxie and Delaplaine Schools. She retired in 1985. She loved her family.

She is also preceded in death by four brothers, Dennis Hankins, Clinton Hankins, Bobby Hankins and Avril Hankins Jr. (Sonny), and three sisters, Clara Hankins, Verda (Joann) Hankins White and Mavis Hankins Cook. ›

Survivors include her son, Tommy Kellim of Montgomery, Texas; two granddaughters, Shannon Kellim Young of Eugene, Ore., and Kayce Kellim Kieschnick of College Station, Texas; three greatgrand-children, Addison, Cannon, and Callen Kieschnick, also of College Station, Texas; and one sister, Phillis Hankins Tribble of Pocahontas, Ark. › ›

Visitation was Friday, February 1, 2019, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at Heath Funeral Home, 321 West Garland Street, Paragould, Ark.

Funeral service was at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019, at Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Combs Officiating. Burial followed at Greene County Memorial Gardens in Paragould.

Pallbearers were Tory Hicks, Robert Denison, J.L. Wright, Mike Wright, Phil Kissee, and Steve Jones. Honorary Pallbearers were Clinton Hankins Jr., Larry Tribble, and Burl Lawson. Send memorials to Children’s Home of Paragould.
