Janice Sue Carter Rickey
Janice Sue Carter Rickey, 79, of Pocahontas, Ark., passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Janice Sue was born on June 14, 1939, in O’Kean, Ark., to Clyde and Lorine Armstrong Carter.
Janice Sue was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, greatgrandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was of the Baptist faith.
On July 13, 1955, Janice Sue Carter married the love of her life, Billy Rickey. They were married for 63 years.
Janice Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lorine Armstrong Carter; brothers, James H. Carter, Ronnie Carter, and Jeff Carter; sisters, Juanita Bruins, and Barbara Sullivan.
Janice Sue is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy Rickey of the home; sons, Carter (Susan) Rickey of St. John, Ind., Stanley (Bonnie) Rickey of Florida, and Jeffrey Rickey of California; brothers, Gary (Phyllis) Carter of De Soto, Mo., Larry (Pat) Carter of Pocahontas, and Fred (Gaye) Carter of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Billy Rickey of California, Krysta (Remington) Schilling of New Hampshire, Joshua Rickey of Florida, Wendy Espinosa of Florida, and Ilena Asinlaynee of Florida; and four greatgrandchildren.
All services were held in the chapel of the Fears Family Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Ark., on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Visitation was from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Janice Sue’s funeral immediately followed, beginning at 10:00 a.m.; Gerald Fears officiating. Burial followed in Randolph Memorial Gardens.
Janice Sue’s family served as pallbearers.
