Harry Dale Hendricks Sr

Harry Dale Hendricks Sr., 74, of Pocahontas, Ark., passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Harry was born on June 17, 1944, in Chicago Heights, Ill., to Clarence and Ethel Hassen Hendricks. Harry was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was of the Southern Baptist faith. Harry was pastor of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church, and a member of Shannon Baptist Church in Pocahontas. Harry wore many hats during his lifetime. He was a car dealer and an auto body repair man. He owned Evie’s gravel pit in Maynard, and the Mud Creek Auto Dealership. Harry also owned the Arkansas Picker’s Flea Market in Pocahontas. On August 21, 1971, Harry married the love of his life, Evelyn Hansen, in Crete, Ill. They were married for 46 years. Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Hassen Hendricks; sister, Mary Hendricks Sundin; brother-in-law, Richard Sundin; niece, Mischelle Kaczmarski Bray. Survivors include, wife, Evelyn Hansen Hendricks of the home; sons, Harry Hendricks Jr. of Jonesboro, Timothy Hendricks of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ronald (Tammy) Hendricks of Pocahontas; daughter, Candice (Rick) Snodgrass of Knobel; brother, Clarence (Melody) Hendricks of Florida; grandchildren, Tyler (Allison) Gray, Thomas “TJ” Swindle, Charlie Ann Hendricks, and Davie Dale; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Smith and Tucker Bodkins. All services will be held at the Shannon Baptist Church in Pocahontas, on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Harry’s funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Larry Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Jarrett Cemetery near Maynard. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Roger, Lee, and Steven Kaczmarski, Cory Starr, Troy, and Jim Murphy, and Rick Snodgrass.
