Elta Lee Johnson

Elta Lee Johnson, 83, of Spring, Texas, passed away at home on Thursday, August 29, 2019. surrounded by her family.

Elta Lee was born in Pocahontas, Ark., to Rector Elton Thomas and Cona Agee Thomas on September 19, 1935. On December 8, 1957, she married, and is survived by, her beloved husband, Jack Royce Johnson of Hull, Ga. In 1958 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Arkansas State University.

She was an amazing mother to three children, Jack (Susan) Johnson Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Jennifer (Rob) McIntosh of Montgomery, Texas, and Laura (Mark) Branson of Tomball, Texas.

Elta Lee was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Jack (Kimi) Johnson, III of Rock Hill, S.C., Thomas Johnson (Cara Beckom) of Watkinsville, Ga., Joseph (Elizabeth) Johnson of Dacula, Ga., Ashley Branson (Daniel Burow) of Lockhart, Texas, and Emily (Matthew) Temofonte of Cypress, Texas. She was also a great-grandmother to three greatgrandchil dren.

The events of life took her many places. She lived in Japan, Georgia, Tennessee, Utah, and Texas. She was artistically creative, loved traveling and adventure, and had a passion for learning.

She nurtured and encouraged the lives of others with the love and faith of Jesus Christ. She treasured family and friends above anything else. Elta Lee was cherished beyond measure, and we will hold the memory of her in our hearts forever.

A celebration of her life will be held on September 7, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at:

Cypress Creek Christian Church, 6823 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379
