“Let Randolph County Vote” volunteers turn in petitions
Let Randolph County Vote” volunteers turned in signatures to place a wet/dry issue on the November General Election ballot to the Randolph County Clerk’s office on Monday. Linda Bowlin, who spearheaded the petition drive, said the group collected 4,490 signatures. “Of those signatures, 4,249 have completely passed our internal and strict verification process and we have a high measure of confidence that they will be approved by the clerk,” she said. With the other 241 signatures the group was unable to determine if they were registered voters.
The required number of signatures to get the wet/dry issue on the ballot is 3,861, which is 38% of the number of names on the Randolph County voter rolls.
