County election commission to address ADA compliance

Will not affect upcoming special school election

POCAHONTAS – The Randolph County Clerk’s office recently received a letter from DRA (Disability Rights Arkansas) informing them of compliance issues found at several county polling site locations in regard to the Americans with Disabilities Act. However, the upcoming special election on August 14 for the new school millage will not be affected as it will convene only at the Black River Technical College polling site, of which no issues were found.

The Randolph County Election Commission, made up of Chairman Cara Bryant, Keith DeClerk, and Carolyn Towell, along with Randolph County Election Coordinator April Duff and new Randolph County Voter Registration Clerk Brooke Houltzhouser, met last Wednesday morning, July 18, at the Randolph County Annex to discuss the compliance issues raised in the letter.
