Lady Redskins fall to Trumann in district to end season at 8-6

ASH FLAT – The Pocahontas Lady Redskin softball team would be shut out 10-0 by Trumann Monday night, April 23, in the first round of the district tournament at Highland to finish the season at 9-12 overall and 8-6 in conference play.

The Lady Wildcats (11-6 coming in) started out with a bang, putting up four runs in the first inning before tacking on one in the second, two in the third and three in the fifth while holding the Lady `Skins for the win. Pocahontas ends the season in fourth place in the conference with Harrisburg on top followed by Brookland and then Trumann.

Looking at last week, the Lady `Skins fell to Walnut Ridge 11-9 on the road on Tuesday, April 17. The Lady Bobcats scored four runs in the first, three in the second, two in the fourth and two in the sixth. Pocahontas would score four in the second, two in the fifth and three in the seventh.
