Redskins knock off Westside to earn trip to conference tourney
ASH FLAT – The Redskin baseball team played quite the game Monday, April 23, in the first round of the district tournament at Highland where they defeated the Westside Warriors 9-6 in nine innings.
The `Skins will next play Brookland in the second round on Thursday (today) at 4:00 p.m.
Pocahontas would knock three out of the park Monday afternoon, the first of which came from the bat of freshman shortstop/pitcher, Dawson Chester, in the first inning for a two-run shot. With the game tied at two heading to the third inning, Redskin senior second baseman, Brody Hausmann, next sent one over fence for another two-run shot to make it 4-2 `Skins headed to the bottom of the third.
