Around Town ...

Well. Where to begin. The Black River is up again, but according to the National Weather Service the river was cresting on Tuesday at around 18 feet. Flood stage is 17 feet. The river should start a slow fall. But when the river starts rising, we all get antsy so we’re glad this round of flooding was not one of the big ones.

Remember the saying: “April showers bring May flowers,” so we’ll have to put up with the ever-changing weather for a while yet.

The Downtown Playhouse (the old Imperial Movie Theater) on Marr Street is getting a face lift.

Work has begun to update the front of the building. So far, the old ticket booth has been removed and the entire front of the building is being upgraded to complement the inside of the theater.
