On Tuesday, Gov. Asa Hutchinson and Arkansas Department of Health Secretary Dr. Jose Romero gave updates on the coronavirus. The governor lauded the rollout of the vaccine in Arkansas. NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro was among the first to get the vaccine in the state.

Intermodal has productive year despite pandemic

The Northeast Arkansas Intermodal Authority held its monthly meeting via Zoom due to COVID-19 on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 10 a.m. Executive Director, Graycen Bigger informed board members in her Director’s Report that she was working with Emerson and demolition is ahead of schedule on their site. Emerson, a St. Louis based technology company has invested $35 million in the Sharp County town of Ash Flat. The company will create 245 jobs within four years in the area. Bigger said they were still looking at an April 1st production start date. “I actually have some candidates that are internal, that are in the area right now that are getting a community tour and looking around and going to see the facility.
