REYNO—A round of thunder storms swept through Randolph County over the weekend, which resulted in one house burning down at Reyno as well as significant damage to residents’ appliances at Reyno through power surges.
POCAHONTAS—Justices unanimously approved a proposal at the Jan. 9 Randolph County Quorum meeting to grant Carter City and County Realty, of Pocahontas, the rights to market the old Randolph County Nursing Home for sale.
The Eddie Mae Herron Center/Museum will host its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Walk Monday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. Dr. King would have been 91 years old this year.
JACKSON COUNTYProbable cause was found, on Tuesday, to charge Rebecca O’Donnell, suspect in the murder of former state Sen. Linda Collins, with two counts of solicitation to commit capital murder and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.
POCAHONTAS—The Randolph County Humane Society and Pocahontas Animal Control will soon be moving to much larger, more convenient facilities from its current location of nearly 40 years off Pyburn Extended, according to Pocahontas Mayor Keith Sutton.
