Two women to speak at Black History Month Series

POCAHONTAS – Black River Technical College along with the Eddie Mae Herron Center are hosting two speakers for the annual Black History Month Speaker Series. On Thursday, February 20 at 10 a.m. in the Randolph County Development Center at BRTC in Pocahontas, Amber Grady, Dean of Students with Williams Baptist College, will be speaking. With her will be Ethel Tompkins. Tompkins is one of the Hoxie 21 to integrate Hoxie Schools in 1955. In 1961 she became the first African-American to graduate from Hoxie High School.
