Trial for suspect in Linda Collins’ murder set for fall 2020

POCAHONTAS—Rebecca O’Donnell appeared before Judge David Goodson Friday, Nov. 22, in Randolph County Circuit Court where he scheduled O’Donnell’s next pre-trial hearing for Feb. 28, 2020 and her trial for Oct. 19, 2020.

O’Donnell, suspected for the murder of former Arkansas State Representative and Senator Linda Collins, is charged with capital murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. At her arraignment on July 30, she pleaded not guilty to all counts as Third Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Henry Boyce announced that the death penalty would be sought. According to the Randolph County Circuit Clerk’s Office, next fall’s trial is expected to last around two weeks.

The hearing was O’Donnell’s first since her Sept. 19 pre-trial hearing, in which she and her legal team were granted a 60-day continuance.
