Students have access to iPads, Chromebooks
POCAHONTAS- The Pocahontas School Board met Tuesday night in the high school business building and approved the purchase of new iPads and Chromebooks which will go towards Alma Spikes Elementary school. The purchase will allow the district to now be at a 1:1 student to computer ratio in all of their public schools which they have been working towards for some time now. District Superintendent Daryl Blaxton noted that it will be funded out of Title 1 federal funding. He explained that they’ve made a change and are now going to iPads instead of tablets that they were using in Kindergarten. “We were having a few issues and there are more educational apps available on the iPads that they’re saying we can use, so that’s a change there,” Blaxton stated.
