School to donate bus to BRTC’s fire training program

Also to visit other districts in preparation for construction of future elementary school
Pocahontas School District Board of Directors met Monday night in the Junior High library and voted to approve a resolution that would donate an older school bus to BRTC’s fire training program.
District Superintendent Daryl Blaxton stated that the school district and BRTC are seeking to continue their collaborative efforts in providing opportunities for students in their service areas. Blaxton stated, “Essentially, as you are aware, we’ve collaborated with BRTC in a number of educational initiatives as far as trying to serve our community and region. One of the things that Black River has in place is providing training for fire departments and training for firemen in the area.
