School District to provide virtual and onsite learning this school year
POCAHONTAS – The Pocahontas School Board of Directors approved the 2020- 2021 school year calendar during their regular monthly meeting Monday night which will allow students the opportunity to attend classes virtually if needed.
While on-site classes will be conducted normally as in years past, beginning Monday, August 24, virtual learning means will also be available for students who must stay home due to COVID-19 infection or other health risks.
According to a press release issued by the District Tuesday morning, virtual learning will be available for all grade levels and may occur at a student’s home or at a site other than the school. Virtual instruction will be presented live or by recording five days a week by the regular classroom teacher. The district will provide each student a Chromebook computer. Internet access will be available on campus parking lots and via buses placed throughout the district.
