Pocahontas native served as caretaker for LSU’s tiger mascot

““How I earned my stripes,” was the title of local veterinarian Trevor Davis’s PowerPoint presentation during the Nov. 16th Pocahontas Rotary Club meeting. Davis’s presentation consisted of the time he spent as a caretaker for Mike VI, the Louisiana State University (LSU) mascot during his final year at the LSU Veterinarian School. LSU is the only college to have a live tiger mascot on campus, bringing Mike I on board in 1936. “They wanted to be different,” Davis said.
