Local food pantry continues to grow while aiding the community

POCAHONTAS—The local food pantry program, held two times each month at West Ridge Church of Christ, continues to see growth each month as they help those in need not just in Randolph County but throughout all of northeast Arkansas.

The program, which is held in conjunction with the First United Methodist Church in Pocahontas, began a few years back with local congregation members bringing assorted canned goods to pass out in a Walmart bag to those need. However, the program’s grown to the extent that they recently partnered with the food bank in Jonesboro and now occupy nearly an entire wing of the church. The fully-stocked rooms initially started out with two freezers but are up to five currently.
