Justices hear update on flood study

In its May 9 meeting, the Randolph County Quorum Court heard updates from County Judge David Jansen regarding the Black River 205 flood study by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the new jail construction and the old nursing home property.

Justices voted unanimously to terminate the flood project after receiving a report from the Corps of Engineers listing four directions the project can take. The Corps wanted a decision on the matter by Tuesday, May 14. Justices stipulated that the termination decision was be in affect unless a plan was presented on Tuesday that the county could support.
