MAYNARD- The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission along with the assistance of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department uncovered a major illegal game and weaponry operation on Tuesday December 20, in what is being called one of the largest busts of its kind in the history of Randolph County.

First initiated by the AGFC, sheriff’s deputies were called in on the investigation which led to a search warrant being executed on Woods Road off Hamil Trail between Highways 90 and 231 outside Pocahontas. Around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night, authorities discovered illegally harvested turkeys, deer, wild hogs, owls and hawk talons. In addition to the illegal game located, a variety of illegal weaponry and equipment was also discovered including guns, bows, game cameras, night vision equipment and spot lights.
