Hospital to explore service agreement with St. Bernards

POCAHONTAS—Aldermen unanimously approved a resolution during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting for the City to enter into a service agreement with St. Bernards Medical Center to allow them to take over the operations of Five Rivers Medical Center.

While an official agreement has not been made, by approving the resolution, the City pledged their vow of commitment to a long-term relationship with St. Bernards. A final draft agreement would have to be approved by the St. Bernards Board of Trustees and could possibly be approved as early as October 18 during their monthly board meeting.
