Person of interest in case arrested on unrelated charges

MAYNARD – A person of interest in a suspicious death that occurred last week near Maynard has been arrested on unrelated charges.

Randolph County Sheriff Kevin Bell said Monday they arrested Kelly Glenn Dawson, 44, of Walnut Ridge, on charges of failing to register as a sex offender. Dawson is being held at the Randolph County Jail waiting his bond hearing on Wednesday.

According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office incident report, at approximately 1:19 a.m., an individual called 911 and advised that Will was possibly intoxicated and passed out in the passenger seat of a 2009 Scion with its flashers on in front of their residence. Another individual, whose name was redacted, had been an occupant of the vehicle and told authorities they had all been into a physical altercation with each other. At the time of the call, no occupants were requesting medical attention. Upon the officer’s arrival at approximately 1:39 a.m., they noticed a male subject, later identified as Will, lying on his left side facing the vehicle.
