County see’s 1st Covid-related death as active cases reach nine
POCAHONTAS – Following last week’s rise to 5 active positive cases of COVID-19 in Randolph County, this week, the number grew to nine as the county also saw its first death related to the virus. This marks the largest number of active cases the county has seen so far.
On Wednesday morning the Arkansas Department of Health reported out of 1,398 total tests conducted, there were 29 total cumulative positive cases with nine active, 24 recoveries, 1,369 negative, and no deaths. This compares to last week’s totals of 26 cumulative positive cases with two active and 1,196 negative tests conducted. The number of recoveries remained at 24 while there are still no deaths reported.
In Arkansas, ADH reported that out of 214,403 total tests conducted, there were 13,191 total cumulative positive cases with 4,338 active, 8,665 recoveries, 201,212 negative, and 188 deaths. Northwest Arkansas continues to have the most cases reported so far, with Washington County totaling a cumulative 1,977 cases and Benton County totaling 1,514.
