Board sees first sketches of new high school; includes gym and auditorium
POCAHONTAS – The Pocahontas School Board of Directors held a special meeting Friday, March 13, in which they saw preliminary drawings of the new high school to be built following the completion of the new elementary school.
Architect Todd Welch of Brackett-Krennerich in Jonesboro, presented the drawings of the new high school, which will be constructed on the site of the present high school. Nabholz, construction management firm for the project, who was also in attendance, are now in the process of using those completed drawings to work up cost figures.
Nabholz said at the meeting that they’re still shooting for the new elementary school to be complete by December of this year. Demolition work is expected to begin for the new high school in June 2021, at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
