Baltz named city safety manager/fire marshal

POCAHONTAS—Scott Baltz, former Arkansas State House of Representatives representative, District 61, was named Pocahontas City Safety Officer/Fire Marshal on Tuesday.

Baltz, who served as a state representative from 2012-2019, began his position immediately upon being approved by the Pocahontas City Council Tuesday night. He will replace Pocahontas Fire Chief Darrel Kester, who is taking a position with the Pocahontas Police Department to serve as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at Pocahontas High School.
