ARDOT donates Black River finds to museum

The Randolph County Museum of Historical Transportation and Commerce at the Pocahontas Visitor’s Information Center received several unique artifacts found in Black River during recent construction of the new Black River Bridge from the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT). Items donated include an old revolver, numerous log dogs used for floating logs down stream, old keys, an ax head, and several more items including a spear-type tool that seemingly would have been used for deep sea fishing. The items are now on display at the museum, which is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Star Herald photo/Brandon Smith)
