Aldermen consider property for city shop
POCAHONTAS – During Tuesday night’s monthly City Council meeting, aldermen discussed purchasing a piece of property located on the northwest corner of Valley Drive and Apache owned by Troy and Robbie Harvey for consideration to build a new city shop to replace their current location at the corner of Rice and Bettis Street in downtown Pocahontas.
The City has been in search of a new piece of property for some time due to flooding and space issues. Pocahontas Mayor Kary Story stated that he and Street Department Supervisor Ben Wicker recently looked at several properties.
