Minnie Irene Barber

Minnie Irene Barber, 82, of Maynard passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro.

She was born May 12, 1940 in Reyno to the late Dave and Leonia Tilley Nash. She was a retired seamstress with Pro Group and enjoyed sewing quilts by hand for all her loved ones. She loved having all her family gathered together for Sunday dinners and would fix anyone’s favorite meal or dessert on request. She loved attending church at Maynard Church of Christ. Minnie was a wonderful mother and loved her children, but her greatest blessings were her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Leonia Nash; husband, Talmage “Gene” Barber; three brothers, William Nash, Raymond Nash, and Frank Nash; six sisters, Pauline Buckley, Ethel Buckley, Letha Buckley, Loretta Parnell, Valerie Laughlin, and Lorene Hufstedler; and grandson, Derek Waddell.

Minnie is survived by her children, Diana (Wes) Patterson of Ravenden Springs, Randy (Darice) Barber of Maynard, and Kim (Ligie) Waddell of Maynard; grandchildren, Alicia (Kyle) Gardner, Magen (Lance) Brown, Nathan (Stacy) Barber, Jessica (Zach) Nead, Whitney Martin, Ryan Waddell, Katie (Jonathan) Boyer, Molly Patterson, and Jessica Patterson; great grandchildren, Isaac Gardner, Evie Gardner, Krew Gardner, Kinley Godwin, Brody Brown, Nash Barber, Briggs Barber, Anniston Futrell, Hudson Nead, Tanner Martin, and Lincoln Boyer; brother, Thurman Nash of Missouri; sisters, Delois Young of Pocahontas and Janie Cresap of Maynard; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2022 from 6-8 PM in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2 PM at Maynard Church of Christ with Ligie Waddell officiating. Burial will follow in Maynard Cemetery.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Nathan Barber, Kyle Gardner, Isaac Gardner, Josh Brooks, Rob Brooks, and Danny Parnell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jonathan Boyer, Ryan Waddell, Zach Nead, and Brandon Nash.
